VISION, MISSION & GOALS

VISION

The Colegio San Agustin-Biñan is an exemplary educational community guided by the Augustinian charism forming holistic individuals as active participants in building up the City of God .

MISSION

In oneness of mind and heart intent upon God and led by proactive governance, Colegio San Agustin-Biñan commits to provide quality Catholic education through value-enriched instruction, significant research, responsive services, and sustainable community engagement.

In the light of the above-stated Vision-Mission statement, CSA-Biñan pursues the following goals and objectives.
General/Institutional Goals and Objectives

1.Goal No. 1: Augustinian Formation (Implement holistic and integrated Augustinian formation for the entire community)
     1.1 Enhance Augustinian instructional formation for various stakeholders
     1.2 Provide inclusive religious and value-enriched programs
     1.3 Increase the engagement of individuals in formation activities

Goal No. 2: Governance and Quality Assurance (Ensure proactive governance and quality management of operations and processes)
     2.1 Improve governance framework with transparency, accountability, and standardization
     2.2 Support and monitor the system of operations and processes for quality assurance.

Goal No. 3: Curriculum and Instruction (Innovate on dynamic and relevant strategies for curriculum and instruction, assessment, and resources that foster Augustinian values and 21st century competence).
     3.1 Sustain the use of innovative pedagogies and resources that develop 21st century skills and Augustinian values
     3.2 Utilize effective assessment strategies and tools to monitor learning progress and gauge attainment of learning outcomes
     3.3 Implement appropriate academic interventions to address learning gaps and facilitate student success
     3.4 Enhance co-curricular and extra-curricular programs to develop talents and skills that complement academic learning

Goal No. 4: Resources and Services (Deliver efficient and effective support services and manage resources that respond to the needs of various stakeholders)
     4.1 Ensure the efficient and effective management of resources in line with financial viability
     4.2 Implement comprehensive programs that support the development of stakeholders’ competence, psychosocial and physical well-being within a positive environment
     4.3 Provide responsive support services and needs-based resources to various stakeholders

Goal No. 5: Research and Innovation (Engage in significant research and innovation in sustaining quality instruction, services, and extension)
     5.1 Conduct solutions-oriented research and sustainable innovations to address stakeholders’ needs and contribute to common good
     5.2 Utilize research outputs and insights to guide in sound decision-Making and improve institutional practices, policies, and programs

Goal No. 6: Community Engagement (Strengthen community engagement and expand partnership and collaboration with external linkages)
     6.1 Establish a comprehensive community engagement program involving various stakeholders
     6.2 Enhance linkages and collaborations with local, national, and international organizations and institutions

HISTORY

One of the most important intellectual sources in a learning institution is the library. It has provided men a lifetime of study, making it an agency of understanding. Colegio San Agustin-Biñan, in attaining its goals, has started focusing its educational programs on quality instruction, academic excellence, and efficient and dedicated and staff..

In June 1985, a library is housed at Room 1, 1st floor of the 1st building. It was Rev. Fr. Alfredo Jubac, OSA who held the librarianship until 1987. In the same year, the library was transferred at the side of the Gymnasium which lasted its occupancy in 1992. From 1990, Rev. Efren B. Naño, OSA handled the library, before he succeeded by Ms. Ilda N. Denila, with her was Mrs. Lourdes R. Miranda who then became the full-time librarian in 1993.

In 1994, the library occupied three rooms of the ground floor of the Grade School Building, which now houses the Grade School Faculty Room. After the construction of the Administration Building, the library was transferred at its 2nd floor of the same building.

It was in 1999 when the current library was finally constructed. It is situated between Grade School and High School Buildings. It was then divided according to levels, the elementary on the ground floor and the high school at the 2nd and 3rd floors. Under the library is the integrated Instructional Media Center (IMC) occupying half of the 3rd floor.

With its major thrust in raising the quality of education and in propagating the school’s vision and mission, CSA libraries have acquired a program from Athena regarding Computerized Cataloging of library print and non-print materials last August 2000. This program can facilitate students in acquiring significant references or library materials they may need, in a more convenient and precise manner as compared to the conventional type card catalog.

The program is also geared at helping not only its clients but also the management and staff of the libraries. The integration of computerization in CSA libraries is still on going to give a good and quality service in relation to research and study.
