The department is committed to providing a quality Catholic education that is firmly guided by the teachings of St. Augustine through nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of each child. Through a well-rounded curriculum, dedicated teachers, and a supportive community, it strives to instill values of Unitas, Caritas, and Veritas among the Augustinian lifelong learners. It also aims to prepare our pupils not only for academic success but also to become responsible and compassionate individuals who contribute positively to society in building up the City of God.

In the realm of education, grade school department serves as a foundation for an Augustinian pupil's academic journey. It plays a pivotal role in shaping young minds, nurturing their curiosity, and fostering a love for learning.
A truly exceptional grade school department not only imparts knowledge but also goes above and beyond to address the needs of its students and provide services that promote holistic development. The The department prioritizes the well-being and success of its pupils by providing special programs which cater to both academically gifted and challenged pupils. To name a few, Program of Excellence in English, Mathematics and Science (POEEMS), Physical Education Modification Program, Special Reading Program, Special Class for Araling Panlipunan and Filipino (for foreign pupils) and Instructional Assistance Program.
Our Early Beginnings
The Colegio San Agustin-Biñan Grade School Department started in 1985 with 356 Grades I-III pupils. Due to the insistent demands of the parents, the administrators opened Grades IV-VI on its second year of operation. Its first graduation was held in 1987 with 50 graduates. From then on, there was marked increase in its yearly enrollment.
On March 2, 1987, government recognition was granted to the Grade School by the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports (DECS). On April 26, 2002, the department was granted its certificate of accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) attested its certification of accreditation to level II status for having satisfactorily met the standards and fulfilled all the requirements of the association. The department is committed to maintain its standards and to further strengthen its curricular and co-curricular offerings. The PAASCU re-survey visit was held last October 6-7, 2011.
Since 1997, the department has been consistent in sending contestants to the different international math and science competitions bringing home medals and certificates. On October 20, 2005, Immanuel Encarnacion, obtained a perfect score in the prestigious Australian Mathematics Competition organized by the Australian Mathematics Trust and supervised by the Department of Science and Technology. In 2006, the department was the champion in the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge regional level both in individual and team categories.During the national level of the said competition which was held in Metrobank Plaza - Makati City, the CSABiñan Grade School won second place in the individual category and third place in the team category. In 2007 National Math Quiz Bee, Jan Carlo Cardama won first place in the regional level and first runner-up in the National Level. In AY 2009-2010, Prince Michael Balanay won a silver medal in the 2009.
International Math and Science Olympiad held last November 10-14, 2009 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Janina Erika Damian bagged a gold medal in the national finals of MTG- Sharp Math Whiz Kid held in Iloilo City last December 1, 2009. The department also won first place in the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge regional level both in individual and team categories. Prince Michael Balanay emerged as the second placer in the National Finals individual category of the said competition. Last August 6-10, 2010, Lord Danly Mafe, Bon Leif Amalla, and Emmanuel Paulo Santos, all fourth graders bagged silver medals in the International Mathematics Competition held in Singapore. Kristine Bernadette Nuñez and Emmanuel Paolo Santos, bagged gold medals in Asian Math Wizard held in Hong Kong Last July 23-28, 2012.Likewise in the same school year both pupils won silver medals in the International Math and Science Olympiad (IMSO) held in Lucknow, India. Emmanuel Paolo Santos was also awarded a gold medal in the International Mathematics Assessment for Schools (IMAS 2013). In June 2013, Ryan Christopher Deodores, a grade V pupil, was one among the 3 students across Philippines to achieve perfect score and awarded a gold medal in International Competitions and Assessment for Schools (ICAS) Science in conjunction with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) – Australia given by MTG Philippines. The Grade School Department has been consistent in sending contestants in the different national and international math and science competitions bringing home medals and certificates.
The Center for Educational Measurement (CEM), Inc. conferred Colegio San Agustin-Biñan an Exemplary School Performance Award (CESPA) for being one of the top performing schools nationwide and for obtaining the highest mean score in the CEM achievement test in Grade II Science from 2007 to 2012. The Grade School Department is a consistent recipient of the DOST Youth Excellence in Science (YES) Awards. The department also won in both national and international sports and co-curricular competitions. At present, the Grade School Department enjoys the prestige of being a premier institution in the locality. It vows to continue providing the youth a truly Filipino Augustinian education.
